I don’t know about you,  but I’m in a weird Monday mood.  Anyone else feeling sluggish?

Between trying to find the best solution to a slow internet connection on my PC and too many humans in the house begging for all my attention,  I would rather disappear and spend my day browsing art galleries.

Speaking of galleries, I saw this today on my Facebook feed from author Matthew Wainwright

Book One for The Shannen Academy is on the table right now for collaboration and I have been fortunate enough to have the free time to be on the team and get a first draft read of the story.  The way it generally works is a book will be posted as ready for collaboration and the first 5 in-house authors to sign up get in on the project.  Everyone on the team is given about a month to read through the book and provide the author with their first thoughts and feedback.  Within only a week,  I have finished reading the whole book and even had a Skype chat with Matt to bounce around ideas.  When a story is that good,  it is infectious and it is all I have wanted to think about and talk about and I didn’t even write it.  I absolutely cannot wait to announce the due date for this baby.

I’m super paranoid about spoilers but I will tell you this-  Shannen Academy is about far more than just maths and science.  There is something impossible being discovered and the web that is weaved in the making of this epic discovery is one that is going to have you saying “WHAT THE WHAT??!!” after nearly every chapter.  (No lie,  there are literally numerous instances of just that in the comments on the manuscript. I may or may not have written most of them.)

Believe it or not,  I didn’t hop on here to promote books today,  I swear.  I just can’t get Shannen Academy out of my head. Prior to reading that,  I had finished up the first two books in a Sarah Maas series,  A Court of Thorns and Roses. I’ve been trying not to think about the most romantic and sexy male lead EVER (Rhysand over Tamlin always) because thinking about how the third book isn’t out yet sends me down a massive spiral of depression.. even if it is coming out May 2nd. Sigh, I blame Coral.  She got me into this painful addiction.  WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME?? She’s not one bit sorry.  She’s laughing maniacally at me while she cuddles her new born baby girl.  Welcome to the world baby Nova! She is such a doll.  We need to get some pics on here so you can see her!

Anyways,  that’s my Monday rambling.  What’s yours?  Got any good books on the brain?

P.S. Battle of the Authors  is still going strong on Facebook.  Follow our page to get in on the match!

      1. Oh, I wish it were that easy. But Thank you! I just hope it passes so that I can finish the final edit and get that next novel published by the end of the month. It doesn’t need a ton of work, just a few typo fixes, a beefed up climax, and tying up a few unresolved issues, which should take a day or two. And then one more read through. I can do it. I CAN DO IT. 😣
